Just got the black new style bumpers and they are significantly firmer then the original version they had in gray. While I'm sure they will hold up better over time, I'm concerned that the new style with less give will not be as good when pulling up to a dock and having a less then ideal bump to pick up passengers. I also highly prefer the gray color bumpers, as it helped to tie in the gray upholstery of the Switch and give the toons some contrast. I dont want my toons unprotected so the black ones were ordered since it's the only option JBP offers now. I know another company is selling similar styles of these but with the red, yellow and blue accent colors. Might look at those as well. I expect these to be sacrificial bumpers to protect my boat so I'm not too concerned with replacing them as needed; however, the new firmness is concerning on if they offer the same level or better protection or if it was a way to avoid replacing them as often. Time will tell I guess.
